Lavender Blueberry Cherry Crème Glacée

I've been craving Lavender everything lately! Maybe it's all the talk about traveling to France that provoked my taste buds.Since it's been extremely hot and humid I decided to make some homemade ice cream to cool off. This was the  perfect opportunity to use some Lavender Tea buds I was given recently and add more decadence to this ice cream.

Lavender isn't just famous for the warm scent produced by its blue flowers it  has various health benefits like:

  • aiding in digestion

  • headache relief

  • insomnia relief

  • helps calm nervousness and tiredness

This recipe is so simple and quick you will be enjoying it all summer long. First make a preserve with the berries and then the base for ice cream and mix it all together. Et voilà!

Lavender Blueberry Cherry Crème Glacée

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

  • 1/2 cup of cherries

  • ¼ cup raw honey

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon lavender buds (finely grounded)pinch of sea salt

Ice Cream:

  • 1 (14 ounce) can of coconut milk

  • ⅓ cup raw honey1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract

Place blueberries, cherries (pitted) and honey in a saucepan over medium heat.Let the blueberries and cherries  cook down until they have burst and become more of a thicken mixture. Like jam!

Then add vanilla extract, lavender buds, and sea salt. Mix well.

Once blueberries are almost broken down, remove from heat, and place in refrigerator to let cool. While this cools, whisk together coconut milk, honey, and almond/vanilla extract.

Pour ice cream mixture into an ice cream maker or pour the mix into a baking pan, then mix the preserve in. Let it sit in the freezer for 5 hours or more before scooping!
